Bone health & fracture prevention
We offer bone health assessments as part of our Bone Health Program*, which is designed to diagnose osteoporosis and osteopenia, prevent fractures and educate patients on bone health. You may benefit from an evaluation if you're 50 years or older. To schedule, call 708-684-9600.
What to expect at your assessment:
- Complete a bone health survey
- Review your survey with a physician and/or APN
- Meet with a physical therapist or occupational therapist for a fall risk assessment as recommended
- Get a bone density scan (DEXA scan)
- Go home with an initial plan of care

Our Bone Health Program is affiliated with Own the Bone, an American Orthopaedic Association bone health initiative. Own the Bone was launched to address the emerging epidemic of osteoporosis-related fragility fractures. The Own the Bone program nationally recognizes institutions for their commitment to improving patient bone health after a fracture.
As an Own the Bone-recognized institution, our program:
- Identifies, evaluates and treats fragility fracture patients over age 50 at risk of osteoporosis.
- Coordinates patient care among different specialties and physicians for each patient.
- Helps to change physician and patient behavior to reduce incidence of future fractures and impact of osteoporosis.
