Find a doctorThe behavioral psychology program offers home and center-based services for children and adolescents with special needs who have problem behaviors. Children may have some of the following symptoms:
- Frequent temper tantrums
- Aggressive behavior
- Sleeping and eating problems
- Repetitive behaviors
- Non-compliance
The program is focused on reducing problem behaviors by training parents and other family members to use specialized behavior management techniques.
All families participate in eight hours of training where they learn with basics of behavior management techniques for children with special needs. Upon completion of the training, families are assigned a behavior therapist who works with them to address specific treatment goals during weekly home or center based sessions. Behavior therapists regularly consult with the center's child psychiatrist and other pediatric therapist to devise the more effective treatment plan for the child and family. Therapy services are available in Spanish/English.
