Quick Care Video Visits

Watch our video to learn more about the benefits of telehealth and urgent care video visits.

Advocate's urgent care video visits - called Quick Care Video Visits - are a way for you or your child age 2 or older can see a provider quickly for diagnosis and treatment – just like an in-person urgent care visit. You’ll receive 24-hour virtual urgent care with the next available online doctor for common, nonurgent symptoms related to minor illnesses like cold, flu or sinus infection.

Most Quick Care Video Visits are billed to your insurance. If you don’t have insurance, you’ll receive a statement detailing your financial responsibility. See our FAQ to learn more.

We're also able to provide Quick Care Video Visits if you have Medicare or Medicaid as your primary or secondary insurance.

Video visits with your provider

Video visits with your provider are just like office visits – minus the trip. Just call your provider's office and ask if a virtual visit is appropriate for your situation. They’ll need to see you in-person for some appointments, like wellness exams.

A video visit with your primary care provider, specialist or another member of your care team will be billed to your insurance and is subject to any coinsurance, copay or deductible – just like an in-person visit. If you don’t have insurance, you’ll receive a statement detailing your financial responsibility.

Things to know about telehealth & urgent care video visits

Quick Care Video Visits offer 24-hour virtual urgent care for minor illnesses with the next available telemedicine provider without the trip to an urgent care office. You also have the option to see your own provider via video visit during office hours. Whichever type of video visit you request, our virtual care providers are here to help you feel better from wherever you are.

The difference between telehealth and urgent care video visits is that telehealth refers to all types of online health care. Telehealth visits may include video visits, visits by phone or e-visits (diagnosis and treatment recommendations sent via email).

At Advocate, we offer two types of video visits: urgent care video visits (called Quick Care Video Visits) and video visits with your provider.

Be prepared to answer a lot of questions. Since there’s no physical examination, the telemedicine provider will spend time asking detailed questions to better understand your symptoms and health concerns.

To ensure you're getting the best care possible, you may be asked to come in for lab tests such as a strep test or to pick up medication as a result of your visit.

You can use Quick Care Video Visits for minor illnesses or concerns you might usually take to an urgent care office. Quick Care Video Visits for ages 2 and older (unless otherwise noted) cover this set of conditions and symptoms.

If you’re 18 or older and physically located in Illinois, Wisconsin or Michigan, you can request a video visit.

You also can request video visits for kids ages 2-17 if you’re their legally authorized representative. For the video visit, the child must be present and visible with you for the duration of the appointment.

Note kids younger than 2 years old still need to be seen by their own provider. Ask your child’s pediatrician about scheduling a video visit or an in-person appointment instead.

For minor children between the ages of 12-17 years old, you must have proxy access to their LiveWell account. When you submit a video visit on behalf of a minor, you must use their proxy account. Don't use your own account to request a video visit for your dependent. Learn more about proxy/dependent care.

When you do a video visit from your LiveWell account, we keep your personal information safe and secure. These video visits feature enhanced telehealth security measures to ensure only you and your provider have access to your video visit.

We walk you through the steps of starting a Quick Care Virtual Visit or scheduled virtual visit with your provider in LiveWell, plus answer common questions you may have.

We can help answer your questions about LiveWell and its features. We also offer instructions for navigating video visits.

If you’ve recently had a Quick Care Video Visit and have additional medical questions, you can call 844-284-0381 to speak with a virtual health nurse.
